Boy's Body Attacked His Brain Mistaking It for Cancer

A local baby is fighting a rare condition some doctors never encounter in their entire careers.

Fifteen-month-old twins Owen and Finn McConnell are a lively pair. It's almost hard to tell that they're separated by a rare disease.

An MRI revealed that Finn's tumor was not in his brain, but in his chest. And Finn was diagnosed with Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome, or OMS, a rare cancer that causes antibodies to confuse the brain for a cancerous tumor. In other words, Finn's own body was attacking his brain.
